Smart has officially opened orders for its new #5 electric SUV in Germany, with prices starting at €45,900 and a limited-time launch discount of €2,500 available across all variants. The move marks the beginning of the model’s European rollout, following its debut in China in October 2024.
Measuring 4.70 metres in length, the Smart #5 represents a significant departure from the brand’s original compact car image. Now a joint venture between Mercedes-Benz and Geely, Smart is aiming to nearly double its global sales to 120,000 units in 2025, compared with around 65,000 last year, driven by the #5’s introduction.

“With the new Smart #5, we’re opening a new chapter—confident, forward-looking, and full of ambition,” said Wolfgang Ufer, CEO of Smart Germany. “It’s our most versatile and technologically advanced model yet, setting entirely new standards.”
The entry-level Smart #5 Pro, priced at €45,900, features a 76 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery operating at 400 volts. Higher trims—Pro+ (€50,900), Premium and Pulse (both €55,400), Summit Edition (€56,900), and the Brabus version (€60,900)—are fitted with a 100 kWh NCM battery and operate on an 800-volt platform.

All six variants are eligible for a €2,500 launch discount until June 30. A separate offer of €4,500 off remains in place for the older Smart #1 and #3 models through the same period.
Vehicles can be configured and ordered online or via Smart’s 100+ retail locations in Germany. However, delivery lead times range from 16 to 22 weeks for the Pro through Pulse models, while the Summit Edition and Brabus trims are estimated at 10 to 12 weeks. The longer delivery times reflect the SUV’s China-based production.
