Skoda is enhancing the charging experience for Enyaq and Enyaq Coupé owners by offering hassle-free access to more than 500,000 public charging points across Europe through its Powerpass app and card. As the UK’s electric car charge point infrastructure expands, Skoda aims to simplify the process for Enyaq owners, eliminating the need for multiple apps and memberships to access and pay at public charging points.
Enyaq owners can choose from three Powerpass membership levels: Charge Free, Simply Charge, and Charge Faster. The subscription, with automatic renewal and cancellation options, lasts for one month. Charge Free, with no monthly fee, is suitable for infrequent users, while Simply Charge, priced at £4.99 per month, offers reduced rates for public AC and DC chargers, excluding the IONITY network. Charge Faster, priced at £13.99 per month, caters to frequent users of public charging stations, including IONITY chargers, providing reduced rates for AC and DC charging.
The Powerpass map, accessible on the Enyaq’s infotainment screen and the Powerpass app, displays public charger locations along with details such as operating hours, availability, maximum charging power, and prices. Skoda has also integrated non-Powerpass charging points into the navigation system and app, ensuring users can easily locate the nearest compatible charger.
Enyaq’s 2024 model year enhancements include increased power and range, along with faster charging speeds. The Enyaq 60 now boasts a WLTP combined range of 249 miles, while the vRS variant offers up to 340 miles. Notably, the 85x and vRS models feature faster DC rapid charging capability, allowing a maximum charge of 175 kW when connected to a suitable rapid DC charge point, thanks to a 40 kW speed boost.
The Powerpass system simplifies the charging process for Enyaq owners, allowing them to initiate charges through the app or card, monitor battery levels, and manage payments seamlessly. Skoda’s initiative aligns with the broader trend of automakers striving to enhance the user experience for electric vehicle owners, especially in the realm of charging infrastructure accessibility and convenience.
