Siemens signed an agreement with Automotive Cells Company (ACC) which is a joint venture founded by Stellantis, Mercedes Benz and TotalEnergies.
Under the agreement, Siemens will become ACC’s supplier of automation, digitization and electrification technologies, enabling ACC to increase its production, maximize generation and energy efficiency.
Siemens will supply Digital Enterprise hardware and software, covering production design, product life cycle management to energy management systems to ACC.

The company said that it plans to make a comprehensive digital twin technology of the battery and production line. By leveraging Siemens Xcelerator’s Integrated Automation and Teamcenter software, ACC will be able to better connect design and manufacturing to increase production.
“The emergence of the European equipment industry is a key success factor for ACC, which has ambitions to become the leader of automotive battery cells and modules in Europe. We must facilitate the formation of an entire battery ecosystem, spanning the entire value chain,” said Yann Vincent CEO of ACC in a press release on the Siemens website. .
According to Vincent, in this perspective, relying on Siemens is very important for ACC. “Throughout the project, Siemens Xcelerator offered the perfect suite of solutions for our needs,” he added.
Siemens said this partnership is part of the open digital business platform Siemens Xcelerator, launched last June, where Siemens creates IoT-enabled hardware and software aimed at accelerating digital transformation.
This partnership will simplify and accelerate ACC’s progress towards a planned large-scale gigafactory, where ACC previously planned to build three gigafactories.
