Conventional LFP batteries offer the advantages of cost-effectiveness and enhanced safety but suffer from limited energy density, resulting in shorter driving ranges. In addition to the LMFP battery, Samsung SDI unveiled a novel “side cell” design, which relocates the positive and negative terminals from the battery cell’s top and bottom to its sides.
