IM Motors, the electric vehicle (EV) division of SAIC Motor Corp, has unveiled an updated version of its IM L6 electric sedan, maintaining the starting price for the entry-level variant while reducing prices on the higher-end models.
The refreshed IM L6 is available in four variants — Max, Max+, Pro Max, and Ultra — with official guide prices set at RMB 219,900 ($30,540), RMB 234,900, RMB 254,900, and RMB 279,900, respectively. Promotional pricing for a limited period offers discounts, lowering these to RMB 204,900, RMB 219,900, RMB 239,900, and RMB 264,900.

Originally launched on May 13, 2024, the first IM L6 featured five variants priced between RMB 219,900 and RMB 345,900, with a limited-time discount bringing the entry-level price down to RMB 199,900. Deliveries of the updated model are scheduled to begin on May 19, 2025.
The IM L6 is a mid-to-large-size all-electric sedan measuring 4,937 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,474 mm in height, with a 2,950 mm wheelbase. The new model is slightly longer than its predecessor, which measured 4,931 mm in length, while other dimensions remain unchanged.

Built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform, the updated IM L6 improves upon the previous generation’s 400-volt system. The lineup includes three single-motor rear-wheel-drive versions and one dual-motor all-wheel-drive variant.
The two more affordable versions feature a 245 kW motor delivering 430 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. A more powerful single-motor version offers 300 kW and 500 Nm, achieving the sprint in 4.6 seconds. The top-tier Ultra variant uses dual motors with a combined output of 579 kW and 800 Nm, reaching 100 km/h in just 2.74 seconds.

Battery options include a 74 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) pack for the lower-end models, with a CLTC range of 690 kilometers. The Pro Max and Ultra variants utilize a 100 kWh lithium ternary battery, providing ranges of 850 km and 780 km, respectively. The model supports fast charging, enabling a charge from 10% to 80% in approximately 16.8 minutes.
