SAIC-GM-Wuling has launched the 2024 Wuling Binguo in China, offering a range of minor cosmetic and technical enhancements over its predecessor. The new small electric vehicle (EV) retains its familiar design, introduced in February 2023, but introduces several new features across its variant lineup.
The 2024 Wuling Binguo is available in multiple configurations, each denoting its range. The variants include the 203 km Light, 333 km Enjoyment, 333 km Lingxi Connected, and 410 km Lingxi Premium, priced at 56,800 yuan (7,303 euros), 70,800 yuan (9,103 euros), 74,800 yuan (9,618 euros), and 84,800 yuan (10,904 euros), respectively.
Notable updates include the addition of a Snow Mountain White paint option for the 203 km Light configuration and a new Skyclave Green interior color option for the other variants. All configurations now feature a water-cooled flat-wire motor, smaller and lighter than its predecessor, offering improved heat dissipation and a 0.8 kW/kg increase in power density.
While the system power remains at 50 kW, the top speed has increased to 130 kph, up by 10 kph. The 203 km Light variant retains the 30 kW motor but gains DC fast-charging support, allowing a 35-minute charge from 30 to 80% state of charge (SoC).
The 2024 Wuling Binguo retains the same battery pack options as the previous model, with the 203 km Light configuration equipped with a 17.3 kWh battery pack, and the Enjoyment, Lingxi Connected, and Lingxi Premium configurations featuring 31.9 kWh, and 37.9 kWh battery packs, respectively.
SAIC-GM-Wuling highlighted the Wuling Binguo’s success in the small electric car segment, with cumulative sales surpassing 250,000 units, according to March reports. Recent Chinese media reports suggest this number has now exceeded 280,000 units. The Wuling Binguo competes with the BYD Seagull in China and is also available in international markets such as Indonesia and the Philippines, where it is known as the ‘Wuling Bingo.’
