Ryvid, the Southern California-based manufacturer known for its innovative electric motorcycles, has introduced its latest offering, the Ryvid Outset, alongside a significant price reduction for its existing model, the Ryvid Anthem. The Outset, priced at just $5,995, is positioned as the most affordable highway-capable electric motorcycle in the US, while the Anthem’s price has been lowered to $6,495.

The Ryvid Anthem, initially priced at $8,995, has garnered attention for its commuter-friendly design since its late 2023 debut. Now, with the introduction of the Outset, Ryvid is expanding its lineup to cater to riders seeking a dual-purpose bike that can handle both commuting and off-road adventures.

According to Ryvid, the Outset’s scrambler-style design offers a unique blend of urban commuting and weekend exploration. With shared components with the Anthem, riders have the flexibility to convert one model into the other to suit their needs.

Both the Anthem and the Outset feature a folded metal frame, weighing in at just 12 lb (5 kg), and a 72V system with a 4.3 kWh removable battery. The Outset’s Eco mode offers a range of 70 miles (120 km) per charge, making it a practical choice for daily commuting and local adventures.

The Outset is powered by a motor rated at 10 hp continuous and 20 hp peak (7 and 14 kW, respectively), providing a top speed of over 75 mph (120 km/h). It also includes regenerative braking and a reverse gear, offering convenience and ease of use.

The company’s Founder and CEO, Dong Tran, highlighted the strategic initiatives that enabled Ryvid to reduce the prices of both models. “Our primary goal has been to provide the most accessible light electric vehicle to a broad audience,” said Tran. “Creating a new generation of two-wheel electric adopters meant competing effectively on the specification-versus-price ratio against both existing EVs and traditional ICE vehicles.”

Ryvid’s new production facility in San Bernardino, California, has played a crucial role in increasing production rates and negotiating better costs from suppliers. By building multiple models on the same platform and streamlining its supply chain, Ryvid has been able to offer the Outset at a lower price point while maintaining high-quality standards.
