After GM officially revealed the Chevrolet Silverado EV at the CES 2022 event, the first Edition of the RST was sold out within 12 minutes.

This was revealed by GM CEO Mary Barra recently. The RST First Edition itself is priced at $105,000.

Barra added that the Chevrolet Silverado EV work truck variant will be available in the spring of 2023, and is set to start shipping the RST First Edition in the fall.

The regular RST version starts at $39,900. Barra said the regular RST variant won’t arrive until summer 2024.

The RST Silverados First Edition available for pre-order is not clear how many were sold. But the quick sales weren’t too surprising, given the popularity of the Chevrolet Silverado over the years.

The rival of the Chevrolet Silverado, the F-150 Lightning has also received great demand since it was first introduced. Ford as the manufacturer of the F-150 Lightning said it would double its production capacity to 150,000 vehicles per year to meet the growing demand.
