General Motors delivered 66,501 electric vehicles in the third quarter of 2025, extending momentum after two strong quarters and cementing its position as one of the leading EV manufacturers in the United States.
The figure brought year-to-date EV sales to 144,668 units, up 103% from the same period in 2024 and already above the 114,432 vehicles sold across all of last year.

The end of the federal EV tax credit helped drive a surge in demand through Q3, though sales are expected to slow in the final quarter of the year after the pre-deadline push. GM’s EV gains were spread across multiple segments.
The Chevrolet Equinox remained the best-selling non-Tesla EV, with sales climbing 157% to more than 25,000 units in the quarter. Cadillac placed three models — the Lyriq, Optiq and Vistiq — in the top 10 luxury EV list, making it the top-selling premium EV brand in Q3. Its lineup was further strengthened by the Escalade IQ and extended-wheelbase IQL variant.

GMC’s EV deliveries also doubled year-to-date, supported by its combustion line, which is tracking toward a record year. “No one is in a stronger position for a changing U.S. market than GM,” said Duncan Aldred, senior vice president and president of GM North America. “We have the best lineup of ICE and EV vehicles we’ve ever had. Our brands have grown market share with consistently strong pricing, and low incentives and inventory.”
GM now sells eight electric models, including BrightDrop vans, and plans to expand further with the launch of a new Bolt EV in 2027, expected to be priced around $30,000. Its current entry-level EV, the Equinox, starts at $35,100 with standard bidirectional charging, while the Cadillac Escalade IQ sits at the high end, offering the longest range of any U.S. electric SUV.

Cadillac has also begun deliveries of the $400,000 Celestiq, a hand-assembled flagship model limited to 25 units in 2025, with output planned to rise to 500 annually from 2026. While volumes will remain modest, GM expects the model’s margins to surpass any vehicle in its current lineup.
