As the world shifts towards sustainable ecosystems, motorcycle manufacturers are also moving in the same direction. Two-wheeler manufacturer from India, Royal Enfield, has started the same step by testing prototype electric motorcycles in various locations around the world.
Reportedly, having invested in a dedicated infrastructure focused on electric vehicles, Royal Enfield has also hired relevant individuals to enhance its electric motorcycle development in India and the UK.
However, while other manufacturers, such as Kawasaki and Triumph, are already in the advanced stages of introducing production-ready electric motorcycles, Royal Enfield is rumored to be launching its electric motorcycles in 2025.
This is because the India-based company wants to ensure that its electric motorcycle project can set the same quality benchmark as a conventional motorcycle with a capacity of 350 cc to 650 cc.
Royal Enfield is also working to understand what buyers want in electric motorcycles which, in turn, allows Royal Enfield to develop electric motorcycles that meet customer needs similar to internal combustion engine powered motorcycles.
In addition to electric vehicles, Royal Enfield will also focus on developing motorcycles based on internal combustion engines with the Himalayan 450 and Shogun 650 to be launched soon.
