Rivian is enhancing its electric vehicle charging experience ahead of the busy holiday season through a new partnership with Electrify America and Ionna, introducing live charging data and Plug & Charge functionality across its network.

With the 2025.38 software update, Rivian drivers will gain access to real-time charger availability, power levels, and reliability scores directly through the vehicle’s navigation system and mobile app.

The new integrations will also enable Plug & Charge capabilities at both Electrify America and Ionna stations, removing the need for external apps, cards, or PINs when charging.

“With the next software update, we’re adding realtime charger availability and speeds into Rivian’s navigation and mobile app, plus Plug & Charge for two popular networks: Electrify America and IONNA,” the company said. “You’ll be able to see more information about a stop and then seamlessly charge and pay at Electrify America’s more than 5,000 chargers and growing, as well as all IONNA Rechargeries.”

Rivian’s collaboration with Ionna—a joint venture backed by several major automakers—supports a broader industry effort to simplify and expand EV infrastructure. Ionna aims to build 30,000 high-power charging stalls across the U.S. by 2030, complementing Rivian’s own Adventure Network and giving its customers greater flexibility for long-distance travel.
