JAC, the Chinese automotive manufacturer, has unveiled its latest addition to the electric vehicle (EV) market – the Yiwei 3. This pure electric hatchback comes in six different models, catering to various price ranges between 89,900 and 127,900 yuan (approximately $12,600 to $17,900 USD). With an impressive maximum cruising range of 505 kilometers, the Yiwei 3 aims to offer consumers a compelling and eco-friendly driving experience.
Sporting a distinctive retro design, the Yiwei 3 exudes a sense of nostalgia with its two-color body and concealed door handles. Available in an array of attractive colors, such as white, beige, gray, green, and purple, this EV is sure to turn heads. The car rides on stylish five-spoke wheels and measures 4025/1770/1560mm, with a wheelbase of 2620mm.
The front facade of the Yiwei 3 boasts round headlights that enhance its vintage appeal. JAC has meticulously crafted these headlights, featuring 137 LED lamp beads that resemble delicate eyelashes. It’s these thoughtful details that contribute to the car’s overall charm.
Inside the Yiwei 3, occupants are greeted with a 6.2-inch LCD instrument panel and a floating central control screen, available in two sizes: 12.8 inches or 15.6 inches. The center console offers convenient features such as wireless charging for mobile phones and a storage compartment to keep belongings organized.
Safety is a top priority for JAC, and the Yiwei 3 reflects this commitment. The vehicle comes equipped with a comprehensive 360° panoramic image system and an advanced level 2 driving assistance system, offering more than 18 functions to enhance the driving experience. However, it’s important to note that the adaptive cruise control and front radar are exclusive to the high-end model.
Consumers have the option to choose between two power configurations for the Yiwei 3. The low-power version features a 70 kW front motor, while the high-power version boasts a more potent 100 kW front motor. Additionally, the battery capacities differ between the two versions, with the low-power variant offering a 41 kWh battery and a corresponding CLTC cruising range of 405 kilometers, while the high-power variant houses a larger 51.5 kWh battery, enabling an extended range of 505 kilometers. JAC has also announced plans to launch a model with a remarkable 600 kilometer range in the future.
JAC takes pride in its commitment to safety, assuring consumers that the Yiwei 3’s lithium iron phosphate battery incorporates innovative technologies such as thermal isolation, electrical isolation, and thermoelectric decoupling. These advancements effectively prevent the risk of spontaneous battery ignition, providing peace of mind to drivers and passengers alike.
As JAC enters the competitive electric vehicle market with the Yiwei 3, the company aims to deliver a unique blend of retro design, modern features, and impressive range capabilities. With its stylish appearance and advanced technology, the Yiwei 3 has the potential to make a notable impact in the EV landscape.
