Rimac Automobili, the Croatian electric hypercar manufacturer, has recently delivered its first customer unit of the highly anticipated Rimac Nevera in the United States. The prestigious vehicle was handed over to its owner by Manhattan Motorcars, a renowned dealer based in New York, along with representatives from Rimac Automobili.
This particular Nevera model boasts an exquisite Gunpowder Gray exterior finish with a captivating pearlescent effect that perfectly complements the car’s exposed carbon fiber components. The Gunmetal Infinitus shade adorns the wheels, while the brake calipers sport an understated gloss black hue. Additionally, the US-spec Nevera is distinguished by its yellow indicators. Although the press release lacks interior photographs, it reveals that the upholstery features Alcantara material with subtle green accents.
Rimac Automobili confirmed that several other Nevera units destined for the United States are either in production or awaiting their production slots. However, specific allocation numbers were not disclosed by the company. Hendrik Malinowski, the commercial director at Bugatti Rimac, expressed admiration for the first US owner, stating that they had the foresight to recognize the immense potential of the Nevera during its early development. As a result, this privileged owner now holds the distinction of being the inaugural driver of the Nevera in the United States. It’s important to note that this statement excludes Rimac test drivers and journalists who have already experienced the hypercar on American soil. Interestingly, a prototype of the Nevera was involved in an accident during its US debut at the 2022 Monterey Car Week in California.
Introduced in 2021 as a production model, the Rimac Nevera carries a price tag of $2.5 million. It is worth mentioning that the Nevera’s production version arrived three years after the unveiling of the C_Two concept. Currently, the Nevera holds multiple speed and acceleration records, solidifying its position as a true performance leader. Impressively, it claims the title for the fastest 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) sprint time ever achieved by a production vehicle, clocking in at a mind-boggling 1.81 seconds.
Furthermore, the Nevera holds the distinction of being the fastest production electric vehicle, boasting a confirmed top speed of 256 mph (412 km/h). These remarkable figures are made possible by the quad-motor electric powertrain, generating an impressive combined output of 1,887 hp (1,408 kW / 1,914 PS) and 1,740 lb-ft (2,360 Nm) of torque, with energy supplied by a 120 kWh battery pack.
