Renault Trucks to Open ‘Renault Truck City’ Service Outlet in Lyon

Renault Trucks is set to open a new service outlet in Lyon, France, named ‘Renault Truck City,’ located in the Urban Logistics Hotel (ULH) in the city center. The ULH, opening this week, will serve as a central logistics hub for unloading and sorting goods before distribution by low-emission vehicles.

The new service center, according to Renault Trucks, will offer maintenance and repair services for customers operating medium-duty electric trucks and light commercial vehicles in Lyon’s city center. The E-Tech-certified workshop will be staffed by two technicians and will also cater to Kleuster cargo bikes, assembled at Renault Trucks’ factory in VĆ©nissieux.

With ‘Renault Truck City,’ Renault Trucks aims to provide traditional garage services in an urban setting. The pilot project is part of the company’s strategy to expand its presence in urban areas and support sustainable logistics solutions.

The Lyon ULH, spanning 29,000 square meters, is located at the inland cargo port of Edouard-Herriot, close to the river, facilitating efficient distribution of goods with minimal environmental impact.

Renault Trucks is also exploring similar projects in Marseille and Paris, highlighting its commitment to sustainable urban logistics. Recently, Renault Trucks distributor Bluekens opened an area dedicated to cargo bikes and last-mile services for hauliers in the Netherlands, indicating a broader trend towards sustainable urban transport solutions.
