Renault says separation of EV and ICE car production could employ 10,000 staff by 2023

Renault said the separation of the two business units (electric and conventional vehicles) resulting from the separation plan could employ 10,000 staff by 2023.

Renault is currently reviewing the split plan. The company will present it to the stock market in the fall.

“The aim of these strategic reflections is to adapt each technology, drawing on the group’s strengths and expertise on its various markets and within the Alliance”, Renault said.

Renault confirmed the production of electric vehicles will be carried out in France. While car manufacturers with internal combustion engines abroad.

A Reuters source said earlier this year that Renault chief executive Luca de Meo wanted to split the electric vehicle production group. The plan to separate this unit is to catch up with Tesla and Volkswagen.
