Renault has opened priority reservations for its all-electric Renault 5 Turbo 3E, with only 1,980 units planned and an initial reservation fee set at €50,000. The automaker aims to begin deliveries in 2027, with a customisation phase scheduled for 2026.
Customers can register interest through regional Renault websites and select a dealership for formal reservation and showroom appointments.
The 5 Turbo 3E revives the spirit of the 1980s Renault 5 Turbo and Turbo 2 rally cars, reimagined as a modern electric performance vehicle. Built on a bespoke aluminium platform, the vehicle measures 4.08 metres in length and 2.03 metres in width, giving it what Renault describes as “supercar width with city car length.”
It features two in-wheel rear motors producing up to 4,800Nm of torque, delivering rear-wheel drive and acceleration from 0 to 100km/h in 3.5 seconds. The top speed is rated at 270km/h.

Renault says the vehicle will be equipped with a 70kWh battery and 800V charging architecture, capable of charging at speeds up to 350kW. Preliminary figures suggest a WLTP range of over 400 kilometres, with the battery able to charge from 15 to 80 percent in 15 minutes. Final specifications are still subject to change.
The reservation process is intended not only to secure early access for buyers but also to help fund the final development of the car. The first 500 vehicles will be offered at a starting price of €155,000 including VAT, although this does not include optional extras or customisation packages.

“On one hand, it allows customers to secure a priority order reservation within the network from today. On the other hand, it helps us finalise the development of the Renault 5 Turbo 3E and launch the first units in 2027,” said Ivan Segal, Global Sales and Operations Director for Renault.
Renault originally unveiled the R5 Turbo 3E at the Paris Motor Show in 2022, with further technical details released in March 2025.
