On Tuesday, Ram, a subsidiary of Stellantis, introduced its inaugural electric vehicle (EV) for the US market—the Ram ProMaster electric van. With a city driving range of up to 162 miles and a range of innovative features, Ram views this EV as a significant advancement in zero-emission performance, commercial capabilities, and technology.

According to Tim Kuniskis, CEO of Ram, the ProMaster EV is a “game-changer” for the brand, aligning with the evolving automotive landscape as the market increasingly shifts towards electric vehicles. Last year, the US witnessed the delivery of a record 1.2 million EVs, prompting Ram to join the movement with its first all-electric offering.

This launch is part of Stellantis’ Dare Forward 2030 strategy, aiming for 100% EV sales in the European Union and 50% in the US by the end of the decade. Stellantis encompasses several brands in the US, including Jeep, Ram, Chrysler, Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Dodge, and Maserati.

Ram emphasizes the ProMaster EV as delivering the “best value proposition” with the lowest total cost of ownership across its lineup. The electric van is available in both delivery and cargo models, with the delivery model already on the market and the cargo version set to follow.

The cargo van offers two variants, featuring 12′ and extended 13′ cargo lengths. With payload capacities of up to 3,020 lbs for the cargo version and 2,030 lbs for the delivery model, the ProMaster EV is equipped with a 200 kW EDM delivering 268 horsepower and 302 lb-ft of torque. A standard 110 kWh battery pack targets a city range of up to 162 miles.

Fast-charging options include 50 kW, 85 kW, 125 kW, and 150 kW DC, along with a level 2 (11 kW) wall box charger.

Ram has incorporated various fleet management features, such as a rear roll-up door for convenient loading and unloading, standard pocket doors for delivery access, and the Ram Telematics service for driving insights, real-time diagnostics, and vehicle location data.

The ProMaster EV is highly customizable, offering configurations with two roof heights, two cargo lengths, and two body styles. Interior features include 524 cubic feet of cargo space, a 10.1″ touchscreen, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, Alexa In-Vehicle Assistant, and advanced safety features.
