Quantron AG, a leading expert in sustainable passenger and freight transportation, and Ford Trucks, a global heavyweight in the heavy commercial vehicle industry, have joined forces through a Letter of Intent (LOI) to embark on the development of hydrogen fuel-cell vehicles.
This strategic collaboration will see the integration of Quantron’s cutting-edge technology, including the Quantron Inside platform, innovative e-axle, customized high-power batteries, fuel cell systems, and tank integration, alongside advanced energy management and optimized aerodynamics into Ford Trucks’ vehicle lineup. The primary goal of this partnership is to deliver hydrogen fuel cell-powered heavy-duty trucks, ushering in a new era of emission-free transport solutions.
In the first phase of this collaboration with Ford Trucks, Quantron aims to seamlessly adapt Ford’s advanced trucks to comply with the latest safety regulations, with production set to commence in the first quarter of 2024.
This partnership represents a significant opportunity, combining the wealth of experience that both Ford Trucks and Quantron bring to the table in integrating zero-emission drivetrain solutions into commercial vehicles. While Quantron has already successfully deployed over 200 zero-emission vehicles, including battery-electric models, the company has also demonstrated expertise in fuel cell electric vehicles.
