Pride Group Enterprises, a North American logistics operator, has placed an order for 250 heavy-duty electric trucks of the Freightliner Daimler Truck brand. These vehicles will later join the company’s fleet in 2023 and be the next step to complete electrification, which is targeted at the latest by 2024.

The Freightliner order includes 200 eCascadia trucks and 50 eM2 trucks, with deliveries starting mid-2023. Pride Group has plans to fully expand its delivery fleet in the next year or two. Last year, Pride Group also ordered 6,320 e-delivery vehicles from Workhorse. The order must be fulfilled by 2026.

“We are very confident to bring these trucks into the lineup, we have also tested Daimler electric trucks before placing an order,” said President of Pride Group Enterprises, Sam Johal.

With the increased range before reloading, says Sam, this truck would be a great asset. Truck units can easily arrange 10-14 hour trips per day. Customers generally choose between 3 battery options, 194 kWh, 291 kWh and now 440 kWh, for a maximum range of 370 km.

The eCascadia electric truck weighs 37.2 tons, has an electric axle drive developed in the US by Daimler subsidiary Detroit ePowertrain. It is available with single or dual motors.

Pride Group Enterprises will offer the new e-truck for short and long term leases through TPine Truck Rental in the United States and Canada. Customers can rent a truck alone or with a trained and licensed EV driver.
