Porsche has expanded its U.S. charging infrastructure by integrating more than 97,000 EV charging stations from ChargePoint and affiliated networks into its Porsche Charging Service, bringing its total nationwide coverage to over 102,000 locations. The move is part of the carmakerās broader strategy to enhance accessibility and convenience for its electric vehicle customers, with additional expansions expected in 2025.
The newly added charging stationsāaccessible via the āMy Porscheā appāinclude those from ChargePoint, EVgo, Flo, EV Connect, EvGateway, and Ionna. The app allows users to locate, initiate, and pay for charging sessions at J1772 and CCS1-compatible chargers across multiple networks. Porsche Charging Service Premium users and customers within their inclusive charging period can access the newly integrated stations immediately. Access for base plan users is slated to begin in summer 2025.
Porsche had previously announced its partnership with ChargePoint in mid-2023, with plans to finalize integration by the fourth quarter of 2024. At that time, the company projected the expansion would grow its U.S. EV charging network to 86,000 stations. The latest figures now surpass that estimate.
āThis is a significant milestone for Porsche and the electric vehicle journey,ā said Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America. āWe know flexibility and choice are important. As more customers purchase electrified Porsche vehicles, we are dedicated to giving them the seamless charging experience they expect.ā
The development aligns with Porscheās long-term goal of supporting the rollout of electric mobility infrastructure in North America, complementing its existing collaboration with Electrify America. The expanded network is designed to serve current models such as the Taycan and the forthcoming electric Macan.
