Polestar Teases New Version of High-Performance Electric Vehicle: Is It the Polestar 2 BST?

The Swedish automaker Polestar has recently teased what appears to be the 2024 version of its high-performance electric vehicle, the Polestar 2. CEO Thomas Ingenlath took to Twitter to announce the new edition, stating that it will be unveiled later this month.

The teaser video shared by Polestar gives very few hints about the upcoming vehicle. However, the automaker did tease that “something thrilling is about to be unleashed on March 21”, with a glimpse of the vehicle’s front end featuring a beautiful gold brake caliper.

Polestar had previously hinted that the 2024 version of the Polestar 2 would be its best yet, with new batteries for longer range and faster charging, as well as various improvements to enhance performance and feel.

Although details are scarce, the teaser video hints at the possibility of a new version of the Polestar 2 BST, or “Beast” as it’s commonly known. The Polestar 2 BST edition 270 was launched last year, with only 270 cars being produced worldwide. Registration for the high-performance vehicle closed last year due to overwhelming interest.

The Polestar 2 BST boasts several upgrades from the standard version, including Öhlins 2-way adjustable dampers for refined hands-on tuning, 21-inch Gloss Black Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels designed specifically for the BST edition, a Performance Software Upgrade, and an aluminum strut bar for steering precision, rigidity, and balance.

One of the biggest hints that this teaser is indeed for the BST version of the Polestar 2 is the appearance of the gold brake calipers, which are identical to the ones detailed in the initial BST announcement last year.

It remains to be seen whether production or deliveries of the Polestar 2 BST Edition will be announced on March 21st. We’ll have to wait for the official announcement from Polestar in just a few days’ time. However, one thing is for sure: fans of the Polestar 2 are eagerly anticipating what is sure to be an exciting new addition to the lineup.
