Polestar 4 Breaks Ground: Sleek SUV Coupe Debuts in Europe and Australia, Boasting a 379-Mile WLTP Range

Polestar officially launched its highly anticipated Polestar 4 SUV Coupe in Europe and Australia, boasting an impressive WLTP range of up to 379 miles (610 km).

Introduced last April as a “new breed of SUV coupe,” the Polestar 4 marks the brand’s second foray into an all-electric SUV, succeeding the Polestar 3. Positioned between the Polestar 2 and Polestar 3 in size and pricing, the vehicle emphasizes maximum efficiency with distinctive features such as a low nose, retractable door handles, frameless windows, and rear aero blades.

Having commenced production in November, the first Polestar 4 vehicles were delivered to customers in China by the end of the year, with 880 units handed over. Now, the electric SUV coupe is officially available for purchase in Europe and Australia.

With prices starting at EUR 63,200 ($68,500) in Europe and AUD 81,500 ($53,700) in Australia, the Polestar 4 is set to begin production in mid-2024, with initial deliveries expected by August.

CEO Thomas Ingenlath emphasized the strategic significance of introducing the Polestar 4 to all markets by 2024, stating, “It is key to our success.” He lauded the SUV Coupe for offering “great interior space and a stunning appearance.”

The Polestar 4 boasts a unique design feature with a rear window removed, extending the glass roof beyond the rear passengers. Inside, a 15.4″ infotainment system powered by Android Auto OS takes center stage, incorporating built-in Google functionalities such as Google Assistant, Google Maps, and Google Play. Additionally, a 10.2″ driver display is positioned ahead of the steering wheel, complemented by a head-up display featuring a 14.7″ projection area on the windshield.

Being the fastest production car from Polestar to date, the Polestar 4 packs up to 544 hp (400 kW), enabling it to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph (0 to 100 km/h) in just 3.8 seconds.

Available in both dual and single-motor variants, both configurations feature a robust 100 kWh battery. The Long Range Dual Motor trim delivers 544 hp (400 kW) power with a targeted WLTP range of up to 360 miles (580 km). The Single Motor variant, equipped with a rear electric motor producing 272 hp (200 kW), boasts an impressive WLTP range of up to 379 miles (610 km).

Both variants support up to 200 kW DC and 22 kW AC charging, featuring bi-directional charging hardware with V2L capabilities and a standard heat pump.

For those seeking additional comfort and tech, the Plus Pack offers supplementary features, while the Pro Pack enhances the vehicle with 21″ wheels and minor design upgrades. The Polestar Pilot Pack incorporates advanced safety features, and the Performance Pack caters to enthusiasts with 22″ wheels, Polestar Engineered performance chassis tuning, and distinctive Swedish gold elements. The Polestar 4 stands as a remarkable addition to the electric vehicle landscape, combining cutting-edge technology with sleek design and high-performance capabilities.
