Polestar 3 : What we know so far in June 2022

Polestar 3’s official images and videos have just been revealed to the public some time ago. The Polestar 3 is projected to be officially unveiled in October 2022. It will be Polestar’s first electric SUV and the first to be made in the US. The SUV market itself is competitive and highly profitable in the US.

The Polestar 3 positions itself in the premium category and will compete directly with the Tesla Model X, Audi E-tron, Mercedes-Benz EQE, Rivian R1S and Fisker Ocean.

The Polestar 3 will be assembled at Volvo’s factory in Charleston, South Carolina, making it the company’s first electric car to be built in the US.

The Polestar 3 will sport a dual motor drivetrain and a large battery, with a range of 372 miles (600 km). In addition, this electric SUV will be equipped with a partially autonomous drive system for road driving.

The Polestar 3 autonomous driving system uses a lidar sensor from Luminar, as well as on-board computing hardware from Nvidia.

Polestar has released only two vehicles so far: the $155,000 Polestar 1 hybrid coupe and the Polestar 2 sedan.

Apart from the Polestar 3, the company also plans to release the Polestar 4 which is a compact SUV in 2023 and the Polestar 5 sports sedan in 2024. The company is also launching a sleek roadster concept called the Polestar O2.
