The Polestar 3 has been awarded Euro NCAP’s Best in Class title for Safest Executive Car of 2025, reinforcing its position as a safety benchmark in the premium electric SUV segment.

The recognition follows Euro NCAP’s April 2025 assessment, in which the Polestar 3 received a five-star rating and an overall score of 87%. The vehicle recorded 90% for adult occupant protection, 93% for child occupant protection, 79% for vulnerable road users and 83% for safety assist systems. Euro NCAP said the child occupant score was the highest achieved by any passenger car tested in the past nine years.

At the time, the safety body said the Polestar 3 had set “a new standard for child safety,” describing its performance as “tantalisingly close to a perfect score.” The Best in Class award is presented annually to the highest-performing vehicle in each segment, based on combined results across Euro NCAP’s four key assessment areas.

Gerry Yang, chief technology officer at Polestar, said the award reflects the brand’s safety-focused engineering approach and its close technical ties with Volvo Cars. “Safety is a central part of our DNA thanks to our close collaboration with Volvo Cars,” Yang said. “Polestar 3 incorporates among the latest advanced structural innovations and advanced driver assistance systems, which all played a part in delivering the exceptional test results we have seen here.”

The automaker said the latest award underlines its strategy of positioning safety as a core element of vehicle performance as it expands its global electric portfolio.
