Peugeot has joined the ranks of European automakers integrating OpenAI’s ChatGPT into its vehicles. Following the lead of Volkswagen and DS Automobiles, Peugeot aims to make its I-Cockpit infotainment system smarter and more interactive with the addition of the AI assistant.
By activating the system with the phrase “Ok Peugeot,” drivers can engage in human-like conversations with ChatGPT, seeking advice, directions, or simply chatting while on the road. The AI assistant is designed to understand context and can handle both simple inquiries and more complex discussions.

However, unlike some competitors’ implementations that offer hands-free control of in-car features, Peugeot’s ChatGPT-powered assistant appears to be focused primarily on interaction and does not include adjustments to car settings.
Peugeot owners can now access ChatGPT through the Peugeot Service Store and enable it for free for the next six months as part of a pilot program. However, availability is limited to just 10,000 slots, so interested users are encouraged to act quickly.

The feature is compatible with several recent Peugeot models, including the 208, 2008, 308, 308SW, 408, 508, 508 SW, E-3008, E-RIFTER, E-TRAVELLER, E-Partner, and E-Expert, with plans to expand to the new E-5008 model in the near future.
