Peterbilt 579EV Electric Truck : Specs, Battery and Range

Peterbilt 579EV is a fully electric truck designed for optimal weight distribution and performance. The Model 579EV boasts a range of up to 150 miles and is equipped with thermally-controlled Lithium Iron Phosphate battery packs, which recharge in just 3-4 hours when used with a recommended DC fast-charger. This makes the Model 579EV ideal for regional haul, drayage, pickup and delivery, and last mile operations.

The Model 579EV features a tandem drive configuration with Meritor 14Xe e-axle motors and is equipped with regenerative braking, which captures energy from stop-and-go operations to help recharge the batteries and extend the vehicleā€™s range.

The enhanced dash cluster provides the driver with all the information necessary to operate the vehicle, and the Model 579EV offers all the aerodynamic benefits, driver comforts, superior visibility, spacious interior, and safety measures that the Model 579 is known for.

In addition to the Model 579EV, Peterbilt also offers the Model 220EV, a battery-electric truck available in Class 6 or Class 7 versions, and the Model 520EV, envisioned for refuse applications. The Model 220EV is available in two battery versions, with ranges of 100 miles (141 kWh) and 200 miles (282 kWh), and customer deliveries were promised to start in late 2020.

The Model 520EV offers up to 900 bins on a single charge, with a 308-420 kWh battery and system output of up to 670 hp, and can be fast charged in 1 hour.
