Opel has introduced the Mokka GSE, a high-performance electric crossover that joins Stellantis’ growing stable of compact EVs targeting enthusiasts in the European market. The new model represents the fastest electric Opel to date and marks the launch of the brand’s revamped GSE sub-brand.
Positioned as a sportier version of the existing Mokka Electric, the Mokka GSE adopts styling elements inspired by last year’s GSE Rally prototype. Key exterior changes include aggressive black accents on the front and rear bumpers, aerodynamic 20-inch alloy wheels, and yellow brake calipers. GSE badging is also prominently displayed, reinforcing its performance identity.

Inside the cabin, the Mokka GSE features supportive Alcantara-trimmed sports seats, aluminum pedals, and a reshaped steering wheel. The dual 10-inch digital displays have been updated with performance-specific graphics to deliver real-time driving data. Design accents in yellow and white add contrast to the otherwise dark interior theme.
The Mokka GSE is powered by a 278-horsepower (207 kW) front-mounted electric motor that delivers 345 Nm of torque. Performance figures include a 0–100 km/h (62 mph) time of 5.9 seconds and a top speed of 200 km/h (124 mph). A Torsen limited-slip differential helps manage power to the front wheels, while a bespoke suspension setup with dual hydraulic shocks and stiffer rear axle aims to sharpen handling.

Although it retains the same 54 kWh battery as the standard Mokka Electric, the GSE’s enhanced performance and hardware are expected to slightly reduce the WLTP range below the original 406 km (252 miles). Nonetheless, the vehicle keeps its curb weight under 1,600 kg, offering a relatively light platform for its segment.
The Mokka GSE enters a competitive field of compact electric performance models within the Stellantis portfolio, including the Abarth 600e, Alfa Romeo Junior Veloce, Lancia Ypsilon HF, and the forthcoming Peugeot 208 GTI. Pricing and launch timing for European markets, including the UK under the Vauxhall brand, are expected to be revealed in the coming months.
