Indian electric vehicle manufacturer Omega Seiki Mobility has announced plans to establish its first overseas EV assembly plant in the Jebel Ali Free Zone (Jafza), Dubai, aiming to expand its footprint in the Middle East and Africa.

The company will develop a 42,000 sq ft facility to assemble two- and three-wheelers, as well as store and distribute components and spare parts. Omega Seiki Mobility expects operations to begin by the end of 2025, with an initial investment of $25 million over the next five years. The project is projected to create more than 100 jobs in its first phase.

Uday Narang, Founder and Chairman of Omega Seiki Mobility, said the location offers “unmatched connectivity to more than 2 billion consumers and a business environment that enables speed, scale and sustainability.” He added that the facility will help make clean mobility “accessible and commercially viable for partners across the Middle East and Africa.”

Omega Seiki Mobility manufactures a range of electric three-wheelers, two electric trucks, an electric moped, and an electric scooter. While the company has not specified which models will be assembled at the Jafza plant, it plans to launch a nine-metre low-floor electric bus next year. The bus will feature a 190 kW motor, a 195 kWh NMC battery capable of 0-80% charging in 30 minutes, and a 200 km range, with a target of capturing 40% of the electric bus market.
