NIO will launch the ET7, ET5 and ES7 for the European market at the NIO Berlin 2022 event on October 7, said Qin Lihong, co-founder and president of the company.

The ET7, ET5 and ES7 are NIO’s electric vehicle models based on the second generation NT 2.0 platform.

In a Reuters report Sept. 21, Qin said it would also launch other models in Europe this year, including the ET7 and ET5 sedans.

William Li, founder, chairman and CEO of NIO said that construction of the company’s battery exchange station in Frankfurt is being accelerated, with eight employees working on site. Previously, their factory in Hungary had delivered the first production of battery swap stations.

For the Dutch market, NIO is also building a 600-square-meter NIO House, which is targeted to open early next year, according to Li.

NIO Berlin 2022 which is the European launch event will take place in Berlin on 7 October. Themed “A New Horizon,” the event will be broadcast live globally at 18:00 Central European Time.

Last month, NIO shipped the first ET7 to Europe via three ships, and the company said at the time that the ET7 would be open for pre-order to consumers in countries including Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Norway, and that deliveries would begin this year.
