Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker NIO has confirmed that it will launch the 2023 ET7 at the upcoming Shanghai Auto Show, alongside the new ES6. The biennial event, which runs from April 18 to April 27, will also showcase the full range of NIO models equipped with the Banyan intelligent system, with NIO’s booth located in Hall 6.1, Stand 6A01.
NIO’s Banyan software architecture is used for its NT 2.0 platform-based models, while the company’s NT 1.0 platform-based models use a software architecture called Aspen. The new ET7 is expected to feature a new gold exterior option and a tow hook option, along with optimized seats, wireless charging panel power, and low-speed beep.
In addition to the ET7, NIO will unveil the new ES6, which will be known as the new EL6 in international markets, according to a previous NIO press release. The ES6 will come equipped with NIO’s N-Box augmented entertainment console and AR glasses for the first time, allowing the public to experience the technology firsthand.
The ET7 was launched at the NIO Day 2020 event on January 9, 2021, and deliveries began on March 28, 2022. Deliveries remained steady at around 3,000 units per month for the majority of the second half of last year, but slipped to 1,379 units in December. With the launch of the improved 2023 ET7, NIO is aiming to regain its momentum and continue its push into the global EV market.
As one of China’s leading EV makers, NIO has been gaining ground in recent years, thanks to its innovative technology and stylish designs. With the launch of the new ET7 and ES6, NIO is once again showing its commitment to pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in the world of EVs. The Shanghai Auto Show promises to be an exciting event for NIO and EV enthusiasts alike, with plenty of cutting-edge technology and sleek designs on display.
