Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Nio has launched updated versions of its ES6 and EC6 sport utility vehicles in China, keeping prices unchanged while introducing key technological enhancements and incentives for early buyers.
The facelifted ES6 and EC6, each available in a single variant, are priced at RMB 338,000 ($46,910) and RMB 358,000 respectively, inclusive of a standard battery pack. Both models support battery swapping and are available through Nio’s Battery as a Service (BaaS) program, allowing buyers to purchase the vehicle without a battery and lease it separately.

Under the BaaS scheme, the ES6 and EC6 start at RMB 268,000 and RMB 288,000 respectively, with monthly battery rentals set at RMB 728 for a 75-kWh pack and RMB 1,128 for a 100-kWh long-range version.
Nio said deliveries of the updated vehicles would begin on May 20. Customers placing orders by June 30 will receive benefits including up to four complimentary battery swaps per month for five years, free access to the Navigate on Pilot Plus (NOP+) feature for five years, and an AC charging and discharging kit. Alternatively, buyers may opt for a RMB 5,000 option fund in place of the kit.

While exterior changes remain minimal, both models receive several upgrades aimed at improving comfort, safety, and digital interaction. The central infotainment screen has been redesigned from a vertical to a horizontal AMOLED layout, aligning with the company’s newer design direction.
Both SUVs continue to feature dual electric motors with 0–100 km/h acceleration times of 4.5 seconds for the ES6 and 4.4 seconds for the EC6.

Notably, the updated models are powered by the Shenji NX9031 autonomous driving chip developed by Nio, offering computational capabilities equivalent to four Nvidia Orin X chips. The company’s Sky OS vehicle operating system and 15 chassis upgrades are also included as standard.
