NIO delivered 12,157 units in February 2023, indicating a 42.92% surge from the previous month and an impressive 98.29% growth from the same month last year. This makes it the highest-ever monthly delivery figure for the company. The automaker’s cumulative vehicle deliveries reached 310,219 units as of February 28, 2023.
Of the total delivery volume, NIO delivered 5,037 sports utility vehicles (SUVs) and 7,120 sedans. The company’s product portfolio includes eight models, including the ES8, ES6, and EC6 based on the NT 1.0 platform, and the new ES8, ES7, EC7, ET7, and ET5 based on the NT 2.0 platform. The company is currently transitioning its NT 1.0 platform models to the NT 2.0 platform for enhanced cockpit experience and assisted driving capabilities.

NIO recently faced rumors of discontinuing its NT 1.0 platform-based products, with local media reporting significant discounts on some models to boost sales. NIO clarified that this was only to dispose of a small number of inventory vehicles, and the discounts were not as high as mentioned in reports. On February 3, the company released its official purchase discount program, including subsidies for the purchase of NT 1.0 platform models, additional discounts for stock cars, and small cash discounts for the purchases of NT 2.0 platform models.
NIO has gained tremendous popularity in the Chinese EV market with its high-end, smart, and innovative models. The company’s CEO, William Li, announced last year that the company plans to expand into Europe, starting with Norway in September 2022. The automaker is expected to set up a local subsidiary in Norway to offer a full range of services, including sales, charging, and after-sales services. NIO’s strong brand value and impressive sales growth make it one of the most promising EV companies in the world.
