Nio, experienced a significant rebound in deliveries as it introduced new models into the market. In June, the company successfully delivered 10,707 vehicles, marking a notable 73.96 percent increase from the previous month’s figure of 6,155 units. However, this represented a 17.39 percent decline compared to the same period last year when deliveries reached 12,961 vehicles. The delivery breakdown included 6,383 sport utility vehicles (SUVs) and 4,324 sedans, with specific model figures undisclosed.

Throughout the second quarter, Nio accomplished a delivery total of 23,520 vehicles, representing a slight decline of 6.14 percent compared to the same period in the previous year, where 25,059 units were delivered. In comparison to the first quarter of this year, when deliveries reached 31,041 vehicles, there was a significant drop of 24.23 percent. However, Nio’s second-quarter delivery performance slightly exceeded the lower end of their guidance range, which projected 23,000 to 25,000 vehicle deliveries. On June 9, the company provided an estimate of the second-quarter revenue to be between RMB 8.742 billion ($1.2 billion) and RMB 9.37 billion.

Over the first half of this year, Nio achieved a year-on-year delivery increase of 7.35 percent, amounting to a total of 54,561 vehicles delivered. Furthermore, as of June 30, the cumulative vehicle deliveries by Nio have reached an impressive 344,117 units. With the company aiming to double its deliveries compared to last year’s figure of 122,486 units, the recent figures indicate that Nio will need to maintain an average monthly delivery rate of approximately 32,000 vehicles in the second half of the year to achieve this ambitious target.

The delivery rebound witnessed by Nio in June can be largely attributed to the successful launch of several new models, with particular emphasis on the new ES6. This model, based on Nio’s NT 2.0 platform, was unveiled in China on May 24, and deliveries commenced on the same evening. The ES6 holds strategic significance for Nio’s growth trajectory and played a vital role in bolstering the company’s delivery figures.
