Nio has delivered the 120,000th ES8 in Shanghai, reaching the milestone 275 days after the latest-generation electric SUV was launched in late September 2025.
The company said the owner of the 120,000th vehicle, identified as Ms. Ye, previously drove a three-row internal combustion engine SUV and selected the ES8 based on its interior design, ride comfort and intelligent vehicle features.
Sales Performance
Retail sales data showed ES8 deliveries reached 11,472 units in May 2026.
According to Nio, the model ranked first in both the large SUV segment and the vehicle category priced above RMB 400,000 for the sixth consecutive month.
The ES8 is one of the company’s flagship models and competes in China’s premium electric SUV market.
Battery-Electric SUVs Gain Market Share
Data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM) showed battery-electric three-row SUVs continued to lead all powertrain categories in May.
Battery-electric models have outsold extended-range vehicles in the segment for nine consecutive months since September 2025, according to the data.
Pricing and Battery Leasing Option
The latest ES8 is priced between RMB 406,800 and RMB 446,800.
Customers can also opt for Nio’s Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) programme, which lowers the vehicle’s starting price to RMB 298,800 by separating battery ownership from the vehicle purchase.
Technology and Performance
The ES8 features a Skyline display, a floating central infotainment screen and an updated NOMI artificial intelligence system.
The interior adopts a three-spoke steering wheel and a landscape-oriented central display.
Built on a 900-volt electrical architecture, the SUV is powered by dual electric motors delivering a combined output of 520 kW and 700 Nm of torque.
Nio said the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.97 seconds.
