Chinese electric vehicle maker NIO Inc. have just released their electric vehicle sales for 2021. The report also covers December and fourth quarter 2021 sales.
In its report, NIO delivered 10,489 electric vehicles in December 2021, an increase of 49.7% from December 2020. The number consists of 2,782 ES8, electric SUV, 4,939 ES6, and 2,768 EC6, five-seater smart electric coupe.

In total NIO delivered 25,034 vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2021. This number of deliveries is a new record high quarterly deliveries. Compared to the fourth quarter of 2020 sales, total sales for this year were up 44.3%.
During 2021 NIO has delivered 91,429 vehicles to their customers. This number experienced a strong increase of 109.1% from 2020.
As of December 31, 2021, total deliveries of the ES8, ES6 and EC6 models reached 167,070 vehicles.

On December 18, 2021, NIO held NIO Day 2021 in Suzhou and unveiled the ET5, a mid-size premium electric sedan. The NIO ET5 is expected to begin shipping to consumers in September 2022. The starting price for the pre-subsidized ET5 is $51,440 USD, or $40,460 USD with Battery as a Service (BaaS). Additionally, the company expects to start shipping the ET7, the flagship premium smart electric sedan, in March 2022.
