NGR Concept, Nissan Leaf with next-generation retrofuturism style

The creativity of the NATS (Nihon Automobile Collage) students successfully captured the attention of visitors to the 2022 Tokyo Auto Salon.

Not only showing off the 5-door Suzuki Jimny JB74, these automotive school students from Japan also brought modifications to the Nissan Leaf.

Labeled the NGR Concept, the Nissan Leaf has received many body changes designed with the concept of “next-generation retrofuturism”. The concept, which is based on the second generation Nissan Leaf, is envisioned as an electric car for young people in the 2040s.

The only remaining parts of the Leaf are the windshield and roof panels, the rest of the proportions have changed drastically. The most interesting thing about the NGR Concept are the cute headlamps belonging to the MINI Countryman and the taillights borrowed from the Fiat 500.

In addition, the fascia area has received a futuristic bumper design that looks plain with a prominent muzzle and no intakes.

Also, the four doors are made clean without handles, while the rear area looks weird with a unique bumper design. Overall, this NGR Concept looks bloated and like a space car that appears in a science fiction movie.

After changing the body, the hang of the feet that ran aground on the asphalt was also achieved thanks to the application of Air Force-made air suspension.

Including the 19-inch white Rotiform LAS-R aero rims and Toyo Proxes Sport tires complete the look of the NGR Concept. In contrast to the exterior, the cabin packaging is quite simple to change with the intake of Recaro alert seats covered with a custom K-Spec cover.
