BYD has unveiled the 2025 version of its Seagull model, maintaining the same pricing and core specifications as the previous edition. The update comes just five months after the last iteration, the Seagull Glory Edition, was introduced.
The 2025 Seagull is available in three variants with starting prices of RMB 69,800 ($9,650), RMB 75,800, and RMB 85,800, unchanged from the Seagull Glory Edition. The March 6 Glory Edition update had previously reduced the Seagull’s starting price by RMB 4,000, or 5.42 percent, from its predecessor.
Recent speculations suggested that the 2025 Seagull’s prices might increase by RMB 1,200 to RMB 2,200. However, BYD’s latest announcement confirms that these rumors were unfounded.
There are no visible changes to the compact battery electric vehicle (BEV) in terms of dimensions or key specifications. The length, width, and height remain at 3,780 mm, 1,715 mm, and 1,540 mm respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,500 mm.
The 2025 Seagull continues to be powered by lithium iron phosphate blade batteries, with the two lower-priced versions having pack capacities of 30.08 kWh and the highest-priced version at 38.88 kWh. The three variants offer ranges of 305 kilometers, 305 kilometers, and 405 kilometers respectively, according to the China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle (CLTC).
