Netradyne, a California-based startup specializing in AI-enabled dashcams for commercial fleets, has secured $90 million in Series D funding at a pre-money valuation of $1.35 billion. The funding round was led by Point72 Private Investments, with participation from Qualcomm Ventures and Pavilion Capital. The new capital will be used to expand Netradyne’s presence in global markets, including Ireland and Japan, while advancing the development of its safety technology.
Netradyne provides fleet owners, including major companies such as Amazon, with AI-powered dashcams that help reduce accidents by around 50%. The devices offer both inward- and outward-facing cameras, utilizing edge computing to provide real-time alerts to drivers for dangerous behaviors or distractions. The system also rewards safe driving practices, with over 18 billion miles of data collected, which the company says has improved the accuracy of its alerts to 99% and boosted compliance scores by 25 million.
The company plans to use its new funding to enhance its product offerings, including the Safety Manager Assistant—a generative AI tool that helps fleet managers gain insights into driver behavior. Netradyne also intends to leverage its extensive data to develop driving models aimed at improving autonomous vehicle technology, with a focus on corner-case scenarios. CEO Avneesh Agrawal noted, “We have rich vision data analyzing every aspect of road and driving behavior… Our objective now is to train a driving model using generative AI to identify these edge cases.”
While Netradyne is not developing its own autonomous vehicle technology, Agrawal emphasized the company’s intention to partner with other firms in the autonomous driving space to share its data and insights. “It’s not Netradyne’s intention to develop its own AV technology, but rather to partner with others and offer the startup’s data and insights,” Agrawal added.
The company’s products include both quad-view and dual-view dashcams, as well as additional monitoring solutions such as drowsiness detection sensors, aimed at improving driver safety. Netradyne is GDPR-compliant and does not share personally identifiable driver information externally. According to Sri Chandrasekar, managing partner at Point72 Private Investments, “Investing in Netradyne is about believing in safer roads and supporting professional drivers.”
