Montague Bikes Launches M-E1 Electric Bike for Urban Mobility, Range Up To 50 miles

Montague Bikes has introduced a new solution for urban mobility with its electric bike, the M-E1. The bike combines the best of both worlds – the efficiency of a conventional bicycle with the portability of a folding bike.

The M-E1 features a folding frame, conventional 700c wheels, and a Shimano STEPS E6100 mid-drive motor for top-tier performance. The motor has a continuous output of 250 watts and a 36V, 418-Wh battery that provides up to 50 miles on a single charge.

Other components include a Shimano Deore drivetrain, SR Suntour NEX front suspension fork, Shimano Deore hydraulic disc brakes, an integrated rear rack, LED lights, and Schwalbe Energizer Plus tires. This combination of components allows riders to enjoy a seamless riding experience while ensuring safety, portability, and efficiency.

“We set out to build an e-bike for the urban environment,” said David Montague, President and founder of Montague Bikes. “Riders need an e-bike that can deliver top-tier performance and stow in the closet, train, or car trunk. The foldable M-E1 is the solution.”

The M-E1 features several components that enhance the overall cycling experience. One of these is the SR Suntour NEX front suspension fork, which effectively absorbs road bumps and vibrations, providing a smoother ride. Safety is also a key factor, which is why the bike is equipped with Shimano Deore hydraulic disc brakes, ensuring reliable stopping power in any weather conditions.

In addition to the technical components, the M-E1 also offers practicality for riders. It comes with an integrated rear rack, making it easy to carry bags and other essentials. For added visibility during nighttime rides, the bike is equipped with Herrmans LED lights. Lastly, the Schwalbe Energizer Plus tires are designed for maximum efficiency, making it easier to tackle hills and other challenging terrain.
