MoEVing, an Indian logistics provider, is set to bolster its electric fleet with 2,500 units of Switch Mobility’s IeV4 electric light commercial vehicles (eLCVs), following a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two companies.
Switch Mobility, the UK subsidiary of Indian commercial vehicle manufacturer Ashok Leyland, recently launched the IeV4, offering two versions of the eLCV. One version features a 25.6 kWh battery and a 40 kW powertrain, while the other boasts a 32.2 kWh battery and a powertrain delivering 60 kW. Both versions offer a range of 120 kilometers, with top speeds limited to 70 and 80 kph, respectively.
MoEVing has reportedly opted for the larger version of the IeV4, which features a payload of 1.7 tonnes (FSD), a 2.6-meter wheelbase, and a Gross Vehicle Weight of 3.5 tonnes.
“Our SWITCH IeV4, which is Indiaâs first eLCV in the 3.5-ton category, is built on a cutting-edge 310V high-voltage architecture for enhanced performance,” stated Mahesh Babu, CEO of SWITCH Mobility. “Our vehicle offers superior payload, extended range and maximized volumetric space, all resulting in a significantly better TCO, making the SWITCH IeV4 the smarter choice for a greener future.”
As part of an initial order for 100 vehicles, Switch Mobility has already delivered the first five IeV4 vehicles to MoEVing.
Founded in 2021, MoEVing focuses on helping businesses electrify their logistic operations. The company currently operates a fleet of more than 2,000 electric vehicles and manages approximately 30 charging hubs across 16 cities in India.
