Mini is testing a three-door electric vehicle in Arjeplog, Sweden. This test is carried out to see the performance of electric vehicles in cold weather. Not only driving behavior is tested, but also the components of the electric drive system.

Mini has also announced that a concept car will be unveiled by the end of 2022.

“Mini is on a path of growth and towards an all-electric future,” said Stefanie Wurst, the new head of the Mini . brand

The tests are called to see how the electric drive, chassis, battery, power electronics, and charging technology work in extreme minus temperatures.

In a press release, Mini was satisfied with the test results and said the three-door electric vehicle prototype had shown a high level of maturity.

In its press release, Mini did not disclose data from testing in Sweden. The data will not be published until the introduction of the fifth generation Mini.

Previously Mini announced plans for the Paceman as an electric crossover in 2024. The Mini Paceman will compete with other models like the Opel Mokka-e and the electric Puma from Ford.

In addition to releasing a new electric vehicle model, in January Mini announced a program to convert the classic Mini model to an electric car called Recharged. This program will revive classic MINI cars with an electric touch
