Mihogo has launched a new crowdfunding campaign on Indiegogo for its Air and Air Max carbon fiber e-bikes, promising innovative features and competitive pricing for backers. The campaign, which has already raised nearly $15,000 from its first ten backers, has 45 days remaining, with an initial target of $514 exceeded early on.

The Mihogo Air e-bike, touted for its ultra-light carbon fiber frame weighing just 3.5 kg (~7.7 lbs), has a total weight of 22.6 kg (~49.8 lbs) once the motor and battery are included, making it comparable to other e-bikes in terms of weight. Despite the marketing claim that the Air is “easy to lift with one hand,” users may find the total weight to be average for e-bikes. The Air features a 250W motor, a 461Wh battery, and a range of up to 64 miles (~103 km), with a single torque sensor for smooth ride control.

The Air Max model, designed for those seeking more power and range, features a 750W motor for U.S. customers or a 250W motor for the EU, dual-arm torque sensors, and a 1,000Wh battery that provides a range of up to 128 miles (~206 km). The Air Max also supports GaN fast charging, allowing the battery to be fully recharged in 3.5 hours. Additional features include a Shimano 7-speed transmission, an IPS display with Bluetooth connectivity, and an IP67 water resistance rating. A range of optional accessories is also available through the campaign.

Early backers can pledge $999 for the Mihogo Air e-bike, which is 40% off its retail price of $1,665, while the Air Max starts at $1,199, compared to its $1,998 retail price. The campaign follows Mihogo’s previous crowdfunding efforts, including the Mihogo One e-bike launched in 2023. However, as with all crowdfunding campaigns, there is no guarantee that the product will ship on time or at all, with some backers of the previous campaign still awaiting delivery.

While Mihogo’s e-bikes offer competitive specifications, prospective buyers are advised to consider the risks involved with crowdfunding and monitor campaign updates for any potential delays or issues with product fulfillment.
