Mercedes-Benz has kicked off the global tour of its Vision V concept, a preview of the automaker’s upcoming ultra-luxury electric van. Positioned as the brand’s next step in the electric multipurpose vehicle (MPV) market, the Vision V offers a glimpse into what the company calls “the pinnacle of luxurious and elegant multipurpose vehicles.”
The electric van, first revealed in Shanghai earlier this year, is based on Mercedes’ new VAN.EA platform, a modular electric architecture that will support a range of future models, from VIP shuttles to high-end family vans and camper vehicles. The platform is expected to underpin the brand’s next-generation MPVs starting in 2026.
“The Vision V represents a fascinating glimpse into the future of the Mercedes-Benz VLS,” the company said during its presentation in Dubai this week, which marked the first stop on the vehicle’s international debut tour.
Sporting a futuristic exterior with short overhangs and a sleek silhouette, the Vision V introduces design cues expected to define the next generation of Mercedes electric vans. Inside, the vehicle reimagines travel as a first-class experience, featuring a “Private Lounge” cabin outfitted with a 65-inch retractable cinema screen, a 42-speaker Dolby Atmos surround sound system integrated into the seats, and ambient lighting synchronized to music rhythms.
The tech-focused interior also offers gaming capabilities, interactive retail experiences, a fully reclining relaxation mode, and even a karaoke function. According to Mercedes, seven projectors help create a 360-degree immersive experience for passengers.
The production version of the Vision V is expected in 2026, though Mercedes has not disclosed final specifications or pricing. Based on the features showcased in the concept, the upcoming model is likely to position itself at the upper end of the electric luxury van market.
