Mercedes-Benz has unveiled its new GLC with EQ Technology, an all-electric SUV that will enter production in the first half of 2026, taking over from the company’s struggling EQC model. The launch was previewed ahead of the IAA Mobility auto show in Munich.
The electric GLC retains the familiar proportions of the internal combustion GLC but features a fresh design, including an illuminated front grille with 942 backlit dots and star-shaped LED daytime running lights. Mercedes said these design elements will become signature features across its EV lineup.

“The tech-heavy design is highlighted by the new seamless MBUX Hyperscreen, measuring 39.1 inches and stretching across the entire width of the dashboard,” the company noted. At the rear, the SUV features star-shaped LED lights and a two-piece roof spoiler.
Inside, the cabin blends luxury with technology. Circular air vents flank the expansive display, while two rectangular vents, two cupholders, and two wireless phone chargers are integrated into a floating console. Ambient lighting can be paired with a panoramic glass roof for a fully customizable interior environment.

Mechanically, the GLC EQ has a wheelbase of 2,972 mm (117 inches), 3.1 inches longer than its combustion counterpart, increasing interior space for passengers. Cargo capacity includes 570 liters in the rear and a 128-liter front trunk.
The SUV is powered by a 94 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. The flagship GLC 400 4MATIC variant delivers 483 hp via a twin-motor setup, with a WLTP-rated range of up to 443 miles (713 km). The battery supports DC fast charging of up to 330 kW, adding 186 miles (300 km) of range in just 10 minutes.

Mercedes said the SUV will feature Airmatic air suspension with rear-axle steering and intelligent control, which communicates with traffic infrastructure to optimize ride comfort and efficiency. The car also includes an advanced brake regeneration system with four levels of recuperation, capable of recovering up to 300 kW.
Market-specific pricing has not yet been announced. Mercedes emphasized that the electric GLC is designed to combine high performance, comfort, and practicality for the next generation of its luxury SUV lineup.
