Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. has selected Mobileye Global Inc. to supply its SuperVision and Surround advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) for at least six upcoming vehicle models starting in 2027, the companies said.
Both platforms will be powered by Mobileye’s EyeQ6 High system-on-chip (SoC), with Mobileye serving as the Tier 1 supplier across all programs. Production of the vehicles equipped with the new systems is expected to begin in 2027.
The agreement expands an existing partnership between the two companies, which previously collaborated on programs using Mobileye’s EyeQ4M and EyeQ6L technologies.
System Architecture and Capabilities
Both SuperVision and Surround ADAS platforms integrate perception, mapping via Road Experience Management (REM), driving functions, driver and occupant monitoring, and advanced parking features on a single electronic control unit (ECU). The consolidated architecture is intended to reduce system complexity and support Mahindra’s efficiency objectives.
The SuperVision platform is powered by two EyeQ6 High chips and uses 11 cameras, with optional radar integration. In designated areas and under specific conditions, it is designed to enable point-to-point navigate-on-pilot (NOP) capabilities, advanced parking functions and a driver monitoring system.
The Surround ADAS platform, running on a single EyeQ6 High chip, uses five cameras and multiple radars. It is designed to support hands-off, eyes-on highway driving in specified conditions, along with advanced parking and driver monitoring functions.
Both systems are aimed at enhancing vehicle safety performance.
India’s Expanding ADAS Market
India, the world’s third-largest automotive market by sales, has seen steady growth in ADAS adoption in recent years. Rising consumer demand for safety features and regulatory initiatives such as the Bharat New Car Assessment Program (Bharat NCAP) have supported the trend. Industry observers expect adoption rates in India to move closer to developed-market levels by the end of the decade.
The new program is designed to address both domestic demand and potential export opportunities.
Mobileye President and CEO Amnon Shashua said the nomination underscores the company’s commitment to the Indian market.
He described India as a key growth region for ADAS technologies and said the program lays the groundwork for more advanced solutions in the future.
