Lynk & Co’s second all-electric vehicle, the Z20 (Z02 in Europe), is gearing up for its European launch in October, with the Chinese debut following in November at the Guangzhou Auto Show.
The first official images have surfaced from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), offering a glimpse into the brand’s latest BEV offering under Geely’s SEA2 platform, optimized for smaller vehicles like the Zeekr X and Volvo EX30.
With a length of 4.46 meters, the Z20/Z02 shares similar dimensions with the Zeekr X but will distinguish itself with a 250 kW electric motor. While battery specifications remain unclear, the vehicle is expected to feature an LFP battery, differing from models like the Smart #3 that offer a 66 kWh NMC battery.
The Z20/Z02 will maintain Lynk & Co’s signature double-stripe daytime running lights and a closed front design typical of BEVs, enhancing its aerodynamic efficiency.
Lynk & Co’s CEO, Lopez Appelgren, is spearheading a shift in the brand’s European sales strategy. Moving away from the subscription-only model of the Lynk & Co 01, Appelgren plans to introduce leasing, financing, and traditional sales channels, including up to ten new showrooms across Europe this year, with more locations to follow. This reorganization aims to broaden the brand’s reach and expand into new markets, particularly in southeast Europe.
