Luxeed, the electric vehicle brand formed through a partnership between Huawei and Chery, has delivered its 100,000th vehicle, the company said on Monday, marking a key milestone less than a year after its first model entered the market.
The company announced the achievement on Chinese social media platform Weibo, noting it would host a ceremony at its manufacturing plant in Wuhu, Anhui province to commemorate the event. Luxeed is part of Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Mobility Alliance (HIMA), which also includes other automotive collaborations such as Stelato, Aito, Shangjie, and Maextro.
The brand launched its first model, the all-electric Luxeed S7 sedan, on Nov. 28, 2023. The vehicle is available in three configurations, with starting prices ranging from RMB 229,800 ($31,970) to RMB 319,800. Its second model, the Luxeed R7 coupe SUV, debuted on Sept. 24, 2024, initially as a battery electric vehicle (BEV), with extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants added in December.
The R7 is offered in six total versionsâthree BEVs and three EREVsâwith pricing starting at RMB 249,800 for the EREV variant and reaching up to RMB 339,800 for the highest-spec BEV model.
On March 12, the company announced that firm orders for the Luxeed R7 had surpassed 80,000 units. In the announcement on Monday, Luxeed described the delivery milestone as âanother important moment for the brand as it accelerates its presence in Chinaâs growing EV market.â
Luxeedâs integration into Huaweiâs HIMA framework places it alongside several other partnerships aimed at developing intelligent, connected mobility solutions, with Huawei contributing its software and hardware expertise to vehicle platforms co-developed with traditional automakers.
