Luxeed, the automotive brand jointly developed by Huawei and Chery, has begun pre-sales for updated versions of its S7 pure electric sedan and R7 coupe SUV, marking the start of what it calls “Phase 2.0” in its development.
The updated S7 starts at 258,000 yuan ($35,920) and the updated R7 at 268,000 yuan, according to company information. Chinese customers can place a reservation for 2,000 yuan to receive a 5,000 yuan discount on the final purchase price. Luxeed said the two updated models received more than 10,000 pre-orders within the first hour of pre-sales.
The new S7 will be available in three variants – Pro, Max and Ultra – while the R7 will offer both battery electric vehicle (BEV) and extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) options. Both models will feature Huawei’s ADS 4 driver assistance system, equipped with a 192-channel LiDAR, a rear-facing high-precision solid-state LiDAR and five 4D millimetre-wave radars.
Luxeed said the refreshed S7 and R7 are the first models launched under its Phase 2.0 strategy, with over 10 billion yuan in planned investment and an expanded research and development team of 5,000 staff. A new company has been established to handle independent production, sales and service operations. The S7 was first introduced in November 2023, followed by the R7 in September 2024.
