Lucid Motors has appointed German automotive retail group Wackenhut as its first European retail partner, marking a shift toward a hybrid sales model as the U.S. electric vehicle maker expands its presence in Germany.
Wackenhut will begin selling and servicing Lucid’s vehicle lineup at its Baden-Baden site from March 30, 2026, with a second location in Stuttgart scheduled to open in summer 2026, Lucid said in a statement. Additional Wackenhut sites will provide service support to strengthen regional coverage.

The partnership represents Lucid’s first move to complement its existing direct-to-consumer model in Europe, which includes online sales and dedicated “Lucid Studios” in Munich, Frankfurt, Düsseldorf, and Hamburg. Under the hybrid approach, Lucid retains control over brand positioning and pricing, while local partners manage sales and aftersales services.
“We are opening a new chapter for Lucid in Europe and are delighted to implement our new sales strategy with Wackenhut as our first partner,” said Lawrence Hamilton, President of Europe at Lucid. “Wackenhut shares our ambition to drive Lucid’s growth in one of our most important markets, Germany.”

“With two award-winning models in our portfolio, now is the right time to expand our sales and service capacities. Through collaboration with experienced retail partners like Wackenhut, we are making the Lucid Experience accessible to even more drivers across Europe,” he added.
Lucid said Wackenhut, headquartered in Nagold in Baden-Württemberg, operates 11 locations and employs certified high-voltage technicians, making it well-positioned to support electric vehicle servicing.
“For us, innovation means more than progress—it means responsibility, evolving what already exists, and opening new perspectives,” said Ernst-Jürgen Wackenhut, Chief Executive Officer of Wackenhut. “That is why we are joining forces with Lucid, a brand born from innovation. Together, we aim to actively shape the future of mobility.”

Lucid indicated that further retail partnerships could follow, noting that it has secured agreements for additional sites in Germany and signed letters of intent for up to ten more locations, potentially including regions such as North Rhine-Westphalia, Lower Saxony, and Berlin.
The company has also partnered with leasing provider Kazenmaier to support financing options in Germany.
The move comes as Lucid looks to scale its European operations and broaden access to its vehicles, including the Air sedan and Gravity SUV, while strengthening service infrastructure in key markets.
