Lucid Motors’ upcoming Gravity electric SUV will reportedly include two separate charging ports, accommodating both Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) and the Combined Charging System (CCS) plugs. The news, first shared by X user BLKMDL3, or Zack, suggests that Gravity owners will be able to charge their vehicles at Tesla Superchargers and other networks utilizing CCS, without the need for adapters.

“We were just told the Lucid Gravity will have 2 charge ports as shown here—1 with NACS and 1 with CCS,” Zack posted on X.

While the exact placement of these ports remains unconfirmed, it is speculated that the NACS plug will be located at the rear, similar to Tesla’s vehicles and Rivian’s upcoming R2 line. Lucid has yet to provide official confirmation or respond to requests for comment on the matter.

The Gravity SUV marks Lucid’s second electric vehicle release, following the Air sedan. Unveiled last November, the Gravity is anticipated to have a starting price under $80,000 and a range exceeding 440 miles, with production expected to commence later this year.

In preparation for the Gravity’s launch, Lucid has expanded its AMP-1 factory in Casa Grande, Arizona, by adding approximately 3 million square feet. The expansion includes a new General Assembly production line, enhanced Body and Paint shops, and a larger Powertrain facility. The company produced its first pre-production Gravity unit at the end of July, after finalizing several release candidates earlier in the summer.

Lucid, which announced its adoption of Tesla’s NACS hardware last November, joins a growing number of automakers, including Volkswagen and Stellantis, that have followed suit in recent months.
